HOLIDAY SHOPPING? Here are a few ways to help raise money for Somerville as you are doing your holiday shopping this year:

Holiday gift cards. We are offering Somerville families a chance to purchase gift cards from 48 different stores and restaurants, and a percentage of the sale will be donated directly to the Somerville H.S.A.! The form is listed below under HSA Files and orders are due back on Tuesday, December 2nd. Keep this in mind as you are planning your holiday gifts for your friends, family, teachers and other special people. You can also use the gift cards for your own shopping at stores like Whole Foods, Amazon, Macy’s and many more. If you have any questions, contact Liz_mccarthy@yahoo.com.

Five Below. From Wednesday December 10 through Monday December 15, when you shop at the Five Below store on Route 17 South in Paramus, Somerville can earn 10% back on your total purchase. Look for the flyer with more info in early December.

LAFF: Winter blues? How about some board games with the class? Or party games? Or maybe some simple art? Our COMPLETELY REVAMPED winter time program will run every Wednesday from Jan 14 - Feb 25 this year. Spend recess in your child's classroom on Wednesdays participating in lots of fun activities. Limited planning required. There will be activities to choose from based on a weekly theme or you are free to use your own creativity to plan others. We need volunteers for every classroom! Please contact Indu Rajesh (r_indira@hotmail.com) or Irina Armstrong (armstrong8@gmail.com) for more details.

HSA DUES: Thank you to the families who have paid their 2014-2015 HSA Dues. If you have yet to pay, please go to http://register.communitypass.net/ridgewood to register and pay on-line or leave a check (written out to the Somerville HSA) in the office.

Please remember that without the HSA there are many, many important programs that simply could not run. The HSA funds field trips, assemblies, clubs and so much more. Your dues go to so much more than just a directory. I hate to ask for money so please know that I would love to stop asking. That said, we need your dues to fund these programs that make Somerville the great place that it is. Please pay your dues today.
