LUNCH ROOM: We are in need of an additional lunch room volunteer for the 2nd/3rd grade lunch period every otherMonday. If you are available or have questions please contact Ann Walsh atburtonwalsh34@aol.com.

BAKE SALE: The Fall Bake Sale Fundraiser is coming up on Tuesday, November 25th from 8:15-9am and 2:15-3:15pm.

This is one of the best (and certainly the tastiest) fundraisers our school has. The money goes directly to the school and the good food and community spirit goes straight to you.

This year, the class with the most PARENT PARTICIPATION will be dismissed early to receive priority purchasing!

Please help us make this fundraiser a success, we need your help. If you have not already volunteered to help us, please consider doing one of the following:

To donate baked goods: e-mail Melissa Guzik: melissaguzik@yahoo.com and Janine Gulya: jmgulya@gmail.com A sign up sheet will be going out to all those who volunteer on WED so please get your responses in ASAP so we can allocate appropriately.

To help sell baked goods (please indicate am or pm): e-mail Bridey Bradford Diamond:brydebd@yahoo.com

To help set up and break down: email Christine McGrath: beanzer68@aol.com

Put the date on your calendar, give your kid(s) a dollar that morning, and have cash in your pocket that day!

Bakers Please Note: All $ Table items are NUT FREE. All donations should be accompanied by a list of ingredients.
We need more dollar table items! Please consider donating.

As you make your purchases (meals for the week and pies for Thanksgiving!) please keep in mind that you are making a much appreciated donation to the school and receiving a baked good in return.

HOLIDAY GIFT CARD PROGRAM: We are offering Somerville families a chance to purchase gift cards from 48 different stores and restaurants, and a percentage of the sale will be donated directly to the Somerville HSA! The flyer and form were sent home with your youngest child this week and are due back on Tuesday, December 2nd. Keep this in mind as you are planning your holiday gifts for your friends, family, teachers and other special people. You can also use the gift cards to shop at stores like Whole Foods, Amazon, Macy's and many more! If you have any questions, contactLiz_mccarthy@yahoo.com. Thanks!

LAFF: Winter blues? How about some board games with the class? Or party games? Or maybe some simple art? Our COMPLETELY REVAMPED winter time program will run every Wednesday from Jan 14 - Feb 25 this year. Spend recess in your child's classroom on Wednesdays participating in lots of fun activities. Limited planning required. There will be activities to choose from based on a weekly theme or you are free to use your own creativity to plan others. We need volunteers for every classroom! Please contact Indu Rajesh (r_indira@hotmail.com) or Irina Armstrong (armstrong8@gmail.com) for more details.

TIC TOC- Please see below to learn about Tic Toc’s fall show to be held on November 23rd.

TIC TOC Presents Pirate Adventure
A ragtag crew of pirates, led by a zany captain who once called Glen Rock home, has a big problem that only kids who love adventure stories can solve. These pirates will tell the tale of their predicament – caused by a wacky sea witch who flung them far into the future - in the original, Off-Broadway production of “The Greatest Pirate Story Never Told” on Sunday, November 23rd at 2 pm at Ben Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood.

In this original tale, Captain Henry Martin and his crew find a script that describes how to outsmart the sea witch and undo her evil spell. The problem is half the words in the script are missing! Audience members must fill in the blanks so the crew can act out the script and secure passage home.

For ticket information about “The Greatest Pirate Story Never Told” please visit www.tictoc.org or contact TIC TOC at 201-447-9110. Tickets are $16 each or $14 each for a group of 10 or more. Payment can be made on the TIC TOC website, by check or at the door. Birthday parties may be booked in advance and include a private party room for one hour before the show and preferred seating for the birthday child and guests during the show.

HSA DUES: Thank you to the families who have paid their 2014-2015 HSA Dues. If you have yet to pay, please go to http://register.communitypass.net/ridgewood to register and pay on-line or leave a check (written out to the Somerville HSA) in the office.

Please remember that without the HSA there are many, many important programs that simply could not run. The HSA funds field trips, assemblies, clubs and so much more. Your dues go to so much more than just a directory. I hate to ask for money so please know that I would love to stop asking. That said, we need your dues to fund these programs that make Somerville the great place that it is. Please pay your dues today.
