HSA ENEWS
JANUARY/FEBRUARY HSA MEETING: After canceling our January HSA meeting for our snow day yesterday, we will be combining our January and February meeting. The meeting will take place on February 10th at 1:30pm in Dr. Oates’ office. Hope to see you there!

LIP SYNC: Calling all Somerville Talent! Lip Sync 2015 will take place on Friday February 6th at 7pm. Please fill out a sign up sheet if you would like to participate!

READING MARATHON: The Ridgewood Library’s Reading Marathon Fundraiser is coming!! Ready, Set, Read during the entire month of February. Special kickoff event at the Ridgewood Library, "Bash the Trash" on Monday, February 2 from 4-5pm. Register now at www.ridgewoodlibrary.org.

BOX TOPS: Volunteers needed to help sort and count Box Tops. Please contact Tara Adams at bt.adams@verizon.net if you can lend a hand.

SOMERVLLE SCIENCE FAIR: The Somerville Science Fair is fast approaching. Mark you calendars for February 24 & 25 and get to work on your projects. Our chairs have created a great document full of information as well as an on-line way to register for the fair. Click http://goo.gl/forms/aZDfFx2YOz to be directed to the form. Also, please see the attached document for a great worksheet (thank you Laria Shlahet!) on the scientific method.

GIRLS ON THE RUN: Girls on the Run is back!! Registration for 3rd through 5th Grade Girls opens on January 26th!! To sign up go to www.gotrnjn.org/ beginning at 8pm that day. Space is limited so sign up early! Girls on the Run is an after-school program which combines interactive lessons and running to inspire self-respect, self-confidence and healthy lifestyles in young girls. Our Somerville team will again be coached by Ms. Clark and three Somerville moms, Julie Grayson, Rebecca Kingston and Heather Wilke. GOTR will start in early March and meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:45. The season will culminate in a 5K run on May 16th! There are so many easy ways to support Somerville. Please see below.

Stop & Shop: Every time you shop at Stop & Shop, earn money for Somerville. Register your Stop & Shop Bonus card with the A+ Bonus Bucks program at www.stopandshop.com/aplus. Points accrue each time you use your Bonus card, and then Somerville earns cash back based on the total points accrued. Your card must be updated yearly.

Box Tops: Please continue to clip those Box Tops! Send them in to school in small ziploc bags or taped to collection sheets. A new collection sheet will be sent home each month, and you can always click on the link here or below to print out additional sheets.

Target: Every time you shop at Target or Target.com, earn money for Somerville. Register your Target REDcard for the Take Charge of Education Program http://www.target.com/redcard/main. Designate Somerville as your school, and Target will donate 1% of your REDcard purchases made at Target and Target.com to Somerville.

Amazon: Every time you shop at Amazon, earn money for Somerville. Simply go to smile.amazon.com, enter "Somerville Home & School" as the non-profit you support, and Somerville will earn a small % of your total purchase.

Regent's Cleaners: Support Somerville when you get your clothes dry cleaned at Regent Cleaners (45 Broad Street) by buying credit through the HSA. You get an extra 10% of your credit amount and Somerville gets 20% of the credit amount. Free pickup and delivery at this Organic Cleaner.
